三菱UFJ銀行の大阪府内の支店で副支店長を務めていた男が、6代目山口組組長と同じ「司忍」などの偽名を名乗り、顧客だった企業に繰り返し脅迫行為を働いていたことが、「 週刊文春 」の取材で分かった。
男は今年8月、神戸水上署に脅迫容疑で逮捕され、11月上旬には神戸地検に強要未遂罪で起訴された。12月25日に神戸地裁で初公判を迎える予定。
半沢頭取は「銀行ビジネスの根幹を揺るがすもの」
40代の女性行員（当時）が東京都内の支店の貸金庫から10億円超の顧客の資産を窃盗した問題に揺れる三菱UFJ銀行。半沢淳一頭取（59）が12月16日午後、記者会見を開き、「信頼・信用という銀行ビジネスの根幹を揺るがすものだと厳粛に受け止めており、心よりお詫びを申し上げます」などと謝罪した。
「半沢氏は自身の経営責任について、『再発防止策を具体化する中において、私自身の処分についても検討していくと思っています』などと述べるに留まった。事態を重く見た金融庁は12月16日、三菱UFJ銀行に対し、銀行法に基づく報告徴求命令を出しています」（経済部記者）
業務上知り得た情報を基に社長への誹謗中傷を
だが、三菱UFJ銀行の行員が起こした犯罪はこの事件だけではなかった。
「大阪府内の支店で副支店長だった男が、取引先だった企業の社長らをメールなどで脅したとして、今年8月、神戸水上署に脅迫容疑で逮捕されました」（捜査関係者）
この行員は京都大学出身で、入行後は法人営業中心の経歴だった。三宮支店に勤務していた2015年から2016年にかけて、社長と知り合ったという。
「男はその後、この企業の株式を購入したそうです。ところが、株価が下落し、不満を抱いたと見られる。業務上知り得た情報を基にインターネット上の掲示板に社長への誹謗中傷を書き込んだり、『司忍』を名乗って会社側に暴力を匂わせるようなメッセージを送り付けていました。こうした行為が脅迫に当たるとして、逮捕されたのです。ただ、銀行側はこの事件について公表していません」（同前）
なぜ三菱UFJは事件を公表していないのか
被害者側の企業は「週刊文春」の取材に、「大変遺憾な事件と受け止めております」などと回答した。
一方、三菱UFJ銀行は事実関係を認めたうえで、「被害を受けられた企業様、ならびに関係者の皆さまに大変なご迷惑やご心配をお掛けしておりますことを心よりお詫び申し上げます」などとし、事件を公表していない理由については「被害を受けられた企業様に個別にご連絡し対応させて頂いていることなどを踏まえて公表は実施しておりません」などと回答した。
