兵庫県の斎藤知事の記者会見が26日午後3時から行われた。
知事は冒頭、不信任決議案への対応について、次のように述べた。
【斎藤知事】「この間、私自身も思い悩んできました。県政にとっても大きな判断です。議会の解散はせず、30日付で失職する。次期知事選で出直し選挙に臨ませていただくということを決めました」
正式に「失職して出直し選挙に出馬する」と発表した。
知事は決断した時期について聞かれ…
【斎藤知事】「きのう（25日）の朝ですね。ぶら下がり（取材）やらせていただいた後に、高校生が私のところに来られて手紙を渡していただいた。お叱りの手紙かと思ったんですが… いまでも見ると感情的になることもあるが…『やめないでほしい』と。 『未来のために頑張ってほしい』というお手紙をもらいまして。高校生が私に対してエールをわざわざ届けてくれましたんで、そこは…（少し言葉に詰まる）ぐってきたというかですね、はい。それが、『こんな自分でも期待してくれる人がいるんだ』ということを受け取った。選挙は大変だと思うんですけども、頑張ってみようと思った 」
こう述べて、25日の朝、高校生から続投を望む手紙を受け取ったことがきっかけになったと話した。
■不信任決議案可決「本当にそこまでいかないといけなかったのか」
また議会から不信任決議案が可決されたことについては、次のように述べた。
【斎藤知事】「知事というのは3年前に大きな負託を受けてならせていただいている中で、職を辞するというのは、かなり重大なことですので。私はそこは、不信任決議を出して可決というのは、議会のご判断ではありますけども、私は、本当にそこまでいかないといけなかったのかという思いは正直あります」
■「心の中におごりや慢心あった」
【斎藤知事】「今回の問題を受けて、自分自身も県政3年間やっていく中で、心の中におごりであったりとか、慢心があったんだと思います。それが言動にもつながったと思うので、そういうことを2度としないということが、今回のことを通じて、改めて心に期するものがあります。 もしもう一度、知事をさせていただくんであれば、職員のみなさんとの接し方、それから議会とより、それぞれの議員の思いをもっと聞いていくことをしないといけない。そういったところから変わっていくつもりです」
