産経新聞社は昨年11月中旬から12月上旬、主要企業111社を対象にアンケートを実施した。外国人労働者の受け入れを巡っては、半数が「拡大すべきだ」と回答。拡大に反対する意見はなかった。企業が労働力不足に悩み、高い技能の人材確保に腐心していることがうかがえる。ただ、回答の中には「無秩序な受け入れ拡大は非熟練労働における賃上げの抑制や、文化的摩擦などの副作用を引き起こしかねない」といった慎重な意見もあった。
受け入れについて「拡大すべきだ」が50・5％、「すべきでない」は0％、その他が25・2％だった。無回答は24・3％。
