日本で働く外国人と雇っている事業所を対象にした厚生労働省の調査が初めて行われました。外国人を雇う理由について「労働力不足の解消や緩和」が60％を超えたということで、厚生労働省は結果を今後の政策に生かすことにしています。
この調査は、外国人の雇用環境を明らかにしようと厚生労働省が初めて実施し、去年9月の状況についておよそ3500の事業所とそこで働く外国人1万1000人余りを対象に行いました。
事業所については11項目あり、このうち外国人を雇う理由について
▽「労働力不足の解消・緩和」が64.8％と最も多く
次いで
▽「日本人と同等、またはそれ以上の活躍を期待」が56.8％でした。
課題としては
▽「コミュニケーションが取りにくい」が44.8％
▽「在留資格の申請など事務負担が面倒・煩雑」が25.4％などとなりました。
また、労働者には31項目で調査が行われ、仕事をするうえでトラブルがあったと答えた人が全体の14.4％で、「紹介会社の費用が高かった」、「どこに相談すればよいかわからなかった」、「事前の説明以上に高い日本語能力を求められた」という回答が多かったということです。
国内の外国人労働者は去年10月末の時点でおよそ200万人と過去最多となっていて、厚生労働省は「調査を通して事業所側の期待感の高さがうかがえた一方、課題も見えてきたので今後の政策に生かしたい」としています。
