そこで恐ろしい事実が発覚する。俺以外全員独身で、俺も含め正社員は一人も居ないのだ。
女どもはすでにバアさんになりかかってるし、男は皆くたびれている。俺が子持ちだという話をすると
大いに驚かれ祝福されたが、その時の彼らの目はどちらかというと嫌なものを見る目だった。
酒が進むと、俺に絡んでくるやつが出てくる。年収はどのくらいなんだよ！とか。
素直に言うと、そんなので子供なんて育てられるのぉ？みたいな話をされる。実際育ててるのだが
お前らの年収はどうなんだよ？と聞き返すと、口を濁される。「いい時は」200万くらい行くよね！とか言われる。
なんだそのいい時はって。なんだかもう無性にその場に居るのがつらくなり、早めに帰ってきた。

私は40過ぎて独身です。本当に辛い毎日を送っています。
つい先日も、こんな事がありました。
ある日、弟夫婦の14歳になる長女の下着類が一切合切盗まれる
という事件が起きたのです。あろうことか真っ先に疑われたのは
私でした。40歳過ぎて独身だというだけで血の繋がった実の弟から
この私が真っ先に疑われたのです。肉親なのに。ずっと一緒に育った
兄弟なのに。ただただ40過ぎて独身だというだけで実の兄である私が
疑われたのです。とても悲しいことです。やりきれない気分です。
ですが、実は盗んだのは私でした。
が、しかし、事ここに至ってはそんなことは瑣末な事です。論点が
ずれています。私が訴えたい事は“私が犯人だと決まってないうちに”
既に“私を疑っていた”という事実なんです。つまり40歳で独身だと
いう事は常に『気持ち悪い事をしでかすに違いない』という目で見られて
いる、という現実なのです。これではまさに冤罪の温床です。我々40過ぎ
独身中年は常にそういった謂れ無き迫害に晒されながら毎日ﾋﾞｸﾋﾞｸして
生きて行かなければならないのでしょうか？結局私が犯人だということが
ばれ、弟は「もう、来ないでくれな」と悲しそうに言いました。ですが
私はそんな弟を許す事はできません。私が犯人だとばれる前から私を
疑っていた、という事実は消えないからです。
独身男性板のみなさん、結婚はしたほうがいいです。40過ぎて独身だと
本当に何をされるかわかりません。家族から。世間から。社会から。
